Lastly I got to name the thing. Scott Flaskerud's lyrics are generally dark, tragic, yet humorous. I choose "Amusement Park Ennui" to capture that feeling, and to contain enough conflict to entice. An amusement park is a place designed to make it's inhabitants excited, and Ennui being the name for depression caused by boredom. As anyone who has ever really lived, places/things/people that are meant to be fun have the power to be the most heart-breaking. As Sylvia Plath's character in the Bell Jar said while on a whirlwind tour of New York, "I'm supposed to be having the time of my life."
